I've often written here about the tendency of the press - and New Yorkers in general - to greatly overestimate the impact of "gentrification" on the demographics of New York. But one neighborhood where this isn't the case (and one that I'm intimately familiar with) is South Williamsburg. Check out Capital New York's ace reporter Greg Hanlon's article on its impact on the local school. And it mentions Census Tracts!
