Just found this piece featuring Shane Perez, Steve Duncan and me, which was written by Sarah Yager last year. I really like the article, and think it explains the motivations behind what we do quite well.
The last paragraph is great, and does a great job of capturing the feeling of being on top of a bridge. I especially like the sentence - "We stood far above New York, both removed from and intensely connected to it."
This paradoxical combination of connection and removal leads to an amazing feeling, and one that's very hard to find. It's this feeling that is at the heart of being on top of a bridge in New York City. It's this feeling that I'm chasing. It's this feeling that I miss.
